INCOLOY alloy 945

An age hardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, niobium, titanium and aluminum. The nickel content is sufficient for resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and the alloy's contents of chromium, molybdenum and copper give it resistance to general and localized corrosion by reducing, oxidizing and mixed media, even those with significant levels of halides. Alloy 945 is especially suited for applications in the oil and gas industry requiring high strength and corrosion resistance. Potential uses include downhole and surface gas well components such as tubular products, valves, hangers, landing nipples, tool joints and packers as well as fasteners, pump shafting and high strength piping and hardware. In addition, alloy 945 may be used for drilling tools, MWD and LWD housings and other drilling components. Alloy 945 is approved by NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-3 for use in sour environments up to and including NACE Level VI.
